Figurines are iconic items collected, distributed as remembrance, used as paper weights or just a simple display or decoration. It maybe made out of clay or stone, glass, plastic, wood, ceramic or even metal. Images may base from people, animals, buildings, emotions and any in particular that an artist can think of.

Two figurine lines that make exquisite designs are LLadro Figurines and Hummels Figurines. Their figurines are high quality, export-ready porcelain, duarble figurines.

LLadro Figurines started with the three brothers, Juan, José and Vicente Lladró in Valencia, Spain. At first they we’re making only pots and jars. Tagging along the moving era, then they started making figurines of famous people like Columbus, Beethoven, Napoleon Bonapart, others are cartoonic like Tinker Bell and Peter Pan.

In the year 1962, the three brothers wanted to share their knowledge so they put up a Proessional Training School for those who are interested to learn in making precised figurines. From then up to the present, the school is actively operating keeping the company’s wisodm alive.

On the other hand, another well known figurine maker is hummels figurines. It all began with a German nun, Maria Innocentia Hummel, she had captivating artworks in her postcards and from there, it was discovered by her publisher, Franz Goebel. He had so much belief in the artworks that his permission in making the figurine line was made possibe. Their figurines where made out of porcelain and with divinely designs of children and saints.

Along the way, Maria Innocentia Hummel died with tuberculosis but still the company pushed thru its business basing the designs in Maria’s artworks. Unfortunately, the company discontinued the production in 2008 but Luckily, intersted investors took its pride and produced Hummels Figurines again in the year 2009.

Despite challenges, both companies excel and made history in the world of figurines.
